While the Ardgowan Single Malt is still maturing, the Clydebuilt series currently fills its role. Laura Davis (former manager of the Penderyn distillery, where annual revenue grew from £10 million to £23 million under her leadership) is responsible for the current single malts and for overseeing the distillery.
Ardgowan Clydebuilt 12 Year Old 100 Proof matured entirely in sherry casks in Ardgowan and was then married in PX and Oloroso casks. As they describe it: “Whisky as it should be.” Bottled without chill filtration and without added colouring.
While the Ardgowan Single Malt continues to mature in casks for several more years, whisky maker Laura Davies is crafting the Clydebuilt blended malts with the same care and expertise.
Whiskies matured in the finest quality casks are housed at the Ardgowan distillery, where every stage of their development is closely monitored.
The goal is simple:
